If you are a first or a second year beekeeper

If you are a first or a second year beekeeper, we strongly recommend taking a beekeeping class. A beekeeping course will help prepare you for how to take care of your bees throughout the year.

Here is an upcoming Beekeeping Course that we recommend: Lake Country Beekeeping Class on Saturday, January 25, 2025. More information is available here.

Another benefit of attending a beekeeping course is that you will meet both new and experienced beekeepers who can help you with your bees. Finding a local or regional beekeeping club is a wonderful way to get plugged into the community, and work with other beekeepers in your area who can help mentor you as you being your beekeeping journey. Keeping bees is not easy, and we’ve found it helpful and rewarding to connect with other beekeepers.

Here is a list of regional beekeeping clubs that we are members of and attend monthly meetings.

Lake Country Beekeepers Association - Sparta, GA

Clarks Hill Bee Keepers Association - Augusta, GA

Oglethorpe County Bee Club - Crawford, GA (Facebook group here)

Eastern Piedmont Beekeepers Association - Athens, GA (Facebook group here)
